How the teachers in WV are using DDR and what are they experiencing thus far.

I attended your DDR training session at WVU on Friday – May 23rd. Participants were asked to submit a DDR success story if we had one . . . here is mine:
Carla Sell and Cindy Yazvac, teachers in Harrison County, conducted an action research project at Wilsonburg Elementary School to encourage students, staff and their families to be active together. A series of easily accessible and inexpensive ?Family Fitness Fun? activities were planned outside of the school day.
p=. A Family Fitness Fun Night featuring introduction to Dance Dance Revolution was scheduled before Christmas. Participants practiced with their families and competed in DDR competitions. Students enjoyed playing against their siblings and parents as well as watching their parents compete against each other. Most of our parents and staff were not familiar with this very popular exercise video game. After playing DDR with their children, they understood what the excitement was all about. Many of these parents fulfilled their children?s Christmas ?wish list? by purchasing or arranging for Santa to deliver DDR games on Christmas Day.

Kanawha County Schools
We held our first DDR EXPLOSION in January at Elkview Middle School for the middle school age students in Kanawha County. It was a hit!!!!! We gave out trophies for our 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners in each of the four levels. The students requested we hold another one so we are going to hold our 2nd DDR EXPLOSION on April 26 from 9:00-12:00. I am the lead physical education teacher in Kanawha County now and I came to Morgantown last year to receive the DDR. It was a great opportunity!!! Thank you for that and if there is anything new and exciting happening please let me know so I can pass it on to the physical education teachers here in the county!!!! We are trying to do some new and interesting things!!!!
