Training Information
Currently we are training all public schools in West Virginia on the use of DDR within their physical education classes. We are wrapping up our training of all middle and high schools in the state and have started to train some elementary schools. Elementary schools will be our main focus for training during the 2008-2009 school year.
Trainings consists of a demonstration of DDR, how to set up DDR, and practice using DDR. The training also includes demonstration of additional equipment that can be used to optimize the use of DDR in the classroom and in clubs. Trainings typically last from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. After the training is completed, teachers receive one Playstation 2, one DDR software, and two industrial Cobalt Flux dance pads for their schools.
The number of schools trained to date are:
High Schools: 93 trained out of a possible 112 total
Middle Schools: 166 trained out of a possible 180 total
Elementary Schools: 105 trained out of a possible 438 total
Total: 364 trained out of 728 total schools in WV
We will not be hosting any trainings this summer recess. However, our goal is to continue with trainings once public school starts in the fall. Please wait to be invited to trainings as we are limited by seating capacity at our trainings and can only train a certain amount of schools in each training.
